A whole host of yellow

AFC Sudbury have been bust with signings over the last few days, so we thought we'd bring you a bit of a catch up.

Striker Romario Dunne was only a few months ago confirmed as a signing for Cheshunt, but he's decided he needs a different shade of yellow! The player started the 2019-20 season with Brightlingsea Regent, moving over from Stanway Rovers, where he had picked up the players' player-of-the-year and manager’s player-of-the-year awards. He played thirty eight times during that campaign, mainly from a wide position, and scored four goals.

He moved on to Braintree Town last season, and also spent some time on loan at Hullbridge Sports, sadly without getting any game time due to the pandemic. Another loan saw him play once for the Ambers, in the three-one defeat at Dulwich Hamlet in December.

Another former Braintree player signing on is another forward, Cruise Nyadzayo. Prior to his time at the Iron he was with Bury Town, indeed he made ten appearances there last season before his move to Braintree, scoring twice. That followed thirty two appearances and six goals during our first pandemic-hit season. He was previously on the coast with Lowestoft Town and on the Broads with Wroxham.

Dan Gilchrist has been at Stanway Rovers, and the attacking player should be well known to Pitching In Isthmian crowds as he has also played for Barking, Hullbridge Sports, Canvey Island and Grays Athletic amongst others, whilst centre back Connor Smith comes in from Wivenhoe in the Eatern Counties League.
