AB1 Golden Gloves Awards- November 2022

By Ian Townsend

It’s time to consign November to the back of the net, but in doing so let’s honour some people who let very little else in there! Here are the winners of our latest Golden Gloves Awards, sponsored by the fabulous folks at AB1 Goalkeeping

It’s time to recognise our best defences of November! Please note, the outcomes are all calculated on statistics in league matches.

Here we go:

Premier Division

We’re already scheduled to deliver a Manager of the Month Award to Enfield Town, and now we’re off there again, bearing a pair of finely crafted goalie gloves! November saw the Towners concede only one league goal, and the man behind that mean defence is Nathan McDonald, who takes our prize. At least when we throw you a pair of AB1 Goalkeeping’s best gloves Nathan, we know you won’t drop them!

North Division
We’ve already delivered a Manager of the Month Award to Stowmarket Town, but it’s no surprise that we’re off there again with a pair of new goalkeeper gloves. Four matches, four wins, four clean sheets- and James Bradbrook in fine form behind his phenomenal defence. Many congratulations James!

South Central Division

We’re taking a trip to West London, and stopping off at Southall to deliver some gloves and some big congratulations. November saw them unbeaten, and it also saw them concede only one league goal- so our congratulations, and a pair of AB1 Goalkeeping’s excellent gloves- go to Michael Edegbe- with plaudits also to those who stand steadfastly in front of him.

South East Division

It’s time to take a trip to the Sussex coast, where we visit a side who kept three clean sheets from their five November matches- Whitehawk. The Hawks have the meanest defence in the entire Pitching In Isthmian South East, and by the end of November had conceded only eight league goals all season. Whilst we’re sure it’s a team effort, and we’re sure that the defence will need gloves just to keep warm when the sea fret sweeps in over Brighton Marina, we’re only rewarding keeper Luke Glover (and yes, that is a superb name for a goalkeeper- he was obviously born to stand between the sticks). Many congratulations go to Luke- and there are gloves to follow.

Thanks to AB1 Goalkeeping for being our sponsors. You can take a look at their magnificent products- and they don’t just sell gloves- by heading HERE.

Premier League winner and international goalkeeper Asmir Begovic will be best known for his work between the posts, particularly for Stoke City, Chelsea and AFC Bournemouth. But he also has his own company- AB1 Goalkeeping- who provide magnificent products for discerning goalkeepers everywhere- and we are lucky enough to have them as sponsors of our Golden Gloves Award. As they explain:

'AB1 Goalkeeping was the brainchild of one of the Premier League’s leading goalkeepers, Asmir Begovic. With his 15 years’ experience playing at the highest levels of top-flight international football, plus a development team with over 20 years’ experience of developing first-class goalkeeping products, we have a range of equipment to suit all levels of the game, from Grass Roots Football to the Premier League.'
