Rocks v Wands and K's v Rooks

By Ian Townsend

We've two Pitching In Isthmian Premier matches tonight, and one in the South East Division as Oaks play Hawks

The Pitching In Isthmian Premier has two matches tonight for your delectation and delight!

Down by the seaside- wrap up warmly- Bognor Regis Town welcome Cray Wanderers to Nyewood Lane. A win for the Wands will take them to within a point of the play off places, and they are in good form, with only one defeat from their last ten league matches. The Rocks, six points and six places behind, are desperately struggling for consistency, and have gone one hundred and ninety four minutes (plus added time) without a goal- and yet, with Nathan Odokonyero on sixteen goals and Dan Gifford recently returned on loan from Portsmouth, they have no shortage of attacking talent. A home win could see them up to eleventh.

Another Sussex side are on the road, as Lewes travel to Mitcham to take on Kingstonian. The Rooks have lost only one of their last ten- although they have drawn five of those- and seem to be upwardly mobile once more, whilst the K’s, seven point and five places behind their visitors, are on a bit of a downer, with only one point from their last four matches. The Rooks have won only two of their last fifteen meetings with the K’s- neither of those away from home.

In Pitching In Isthmian South East, Whitehawk will hope to get back on track after Saturday’s defeat to Ramsgate. The Hawks are on the road to Sevenoaks Town having lost two of their last three- their worst run of the season- but they did win at Oaks neighbours Corinthian the last time they were on the road. Oaks turned around a poor run of their own with victory over Haywards Heath Town at the weekend, and a home win will see them climb to eighth place. The Hawks delivered a three-nil win on their last visit to Greatness Park, but Oaks won the return match at the Enclosed Ground.
