Advantage Bay

By Ian Townsend

Herne Bay boost their play off hopes, Whitehawk's struggles continue, and the Wasps are stung right at the end

Herne Bay have opened up a six point gap in the race for the final play off place, winning two-nil at Sittingbourne. Zak Ansah was the man on target- twice- as the Brickies were undone, the first goal coming from the spot with twenty one minutes left, the second five minutes from time. With Ramsgate at second place Ashford United today, Bay followers will be becoming Nuts and Bolts for an afternoon.

East Grinstead Town looked to have claimed a vital three points at Chichester City, only for a last-gasp Josh Clack goal to spray the Wasps with insecticide. The visitors had gone ahead through Miles Cornwell with twenty one minutes left, and three points would have taken them to fifteenth, but in the end it was just the one, which leaves them four points above third bottom Lancing, who are at the side one place below them, Phoenix Sports, today.

Whitehawk fell to a two-one defeat against Three Bridges in our featured match, and you can read all about that here.
