Advantage Seasiders

By Ian Townsend

Felixstowe & Walton United finally got to host Stowmarket Town- and the Seasiders boosted their own play off hopes, leaving their visitors with a mountain to climb

Felixstowe and Walton United boosted their play off hopes whilst pouring cold water on the attempts of Stowmarket Town to achieve the same goal, as the match between our two promotion hopefuls was finally completed last night, at the third time of asking. The Seasiders took the lead ten minutes before the break, Billy Holland with then opener, and Callum Harrison almost made it two from distance but struck a post. Nine minutes after the restart Stow levelled, Jack Wilkinson with the equaliser, but little more than ten minutes later Leon Ottley-Gooch restored home advantage and a Zak Brown stunner just before the end made quite sure- three goals and three points for Felixstowe, a result which moves them up to sixth, a point behind Grays Athletic with a game in hand- and sees them do the double over Town.

For Stow, three points away from the top five with only two matches to play, April has been a dreadful month. After a perfect March which saw them win each of our monthly awards, April has followed with a string of defeats and not a single point.

The Seasiders head to Witham Town tomorrow with both sides desperate for victory- albeit for vastly different reasons. Stow travel to North London to take on New Salamis at Coles Park.
