All roads lead to...Stortford and Enfield, Bedfont and Chertsey

It's Pitching In Isthmian Play Off Sem-Finals, take two- with Cheshunt, Hornchurch, Hanwell and Basingstoke on the road

Our Pitching In Isthmian promotion hopefully are back in action tonight, as we have the Play Off Semi Finals for the Premier and South Central Divisions.

In the top flight our runners up, Bishop's Stortford, have been in magnificent form since almost the turn of the year; indeed they've lost only two matches since New Years Day. Unfortunately for the Blues the last one of those defeats, nine days ago, came against tonight's opponents, Cheshunt.

The Ambers ended a run of thirteen games without conceding a goal for the Blues, but otherwise they've been as good as faultless. The last time the Ambers travelled up the A10 for an away match against these opponents they lost three-one, and home fans would be happy with the same again- but they may have noticed on Easter Monday that the current set of Ambers aren't distracted by the FA Trophy and will pose an entirely different proposition. By the way, mentioning the FA Trophy, the Ambers removed the Blues from that competition, too, winning on penalties after a goalless draw.

The Ambers are also in great form; indeed the only sides to defeat them during the last eleven games are champions Worthing and fellow play off hopefuls Hornchurch.

The Urchins are also in action tonight, travelling to Enfield Town- and this match has already sold almost half of its tickets, so we suggest you don't arrive late! The Urchins will perhaps be trepidatious about taking on the Towners, as although their record against the other Semi-Finalists is rather positive, they've been beaten twice by Enfield this season, the most recent defeat coming on March 12th. The Towners have lost only one of their last ten, the Urchins good run ended by two defeats in the last two matches of the regular season.

Into the Pitching In Isthmian South Central, we start at second place Chertsey Town, who welcome Basingstoke Town. The Curfews have won eight of their last ten matches, their visitors have been a little less consistent, losing three of their last ten, but there have been moments this season where they have looked quite magnificent, and their noisy following consistently give them positive encouragement on the road.

The Curfews defeated Stoke five-one back in November and the last time the two met we had a goalless draw. Chertsey have actually been better on the road than at home this season, whilst Stoke are better on the road too, with only one defeat all season, but whether than means anything whatsoever, who knows! It could be about which has the best strikeforce, as the hosts sport twenty seven goal Jake Baxter, Magnus Abisogun on the verge of a twenty goal season, and Ashley Lodge also in double figures- but have shared the load in front of goal, with nineteen different scorers this season. Stoke, of course, have Conor Lynch on twenty six goals, with Bradley Wilson and Stefan Brown also weighing in with their fair share.

Bedfont Sports welcome Hanwell Town. Sports have perhaps been our surprise package, and have surprised many an opponent with their ability to keep going until the final whistle, snatching victory with late goals so many times that we've begun to despair of ever finishing our Saturday round ups early! They come into this match nine matches unbeaten, and would have finished second had they managed to defeat champions Bracknell Town in their last game of the season, instead becoming one of only a handful of sides to take a point or more from the Robins this season.

Sports have taken only one point from the Geordies this season- a three-nil win at the Powerday in December most recently followed by a three-three draw. Sports have been magnificent at home, however, with only one defeat all season.

The Geordies are also nine matches unbeaten, and have won their last three, so are in fine form. This promises to be a cracker!

All matches kick off at 7.45 PM.
