Another pair of Swifts decide to nest on the Island

Canvey Island last night followed up their signings of Heybridge Swifts stars Evans Kouassi and Jey Siva by announcing the arrivals of midfielders Harrison Chatting and Elliott Ronto.

Chatting is a former Gull, having played two hundred and thirty one times for the club before heading to Scraley Road. He announced his departure from Swifts earlier this month, so we were waiting to see where he landed.

His time at Swifts saw him play a prominent part in their FA Cup and FA Trophy success in 2017-18, and saw him play in a Playoff Final and a Playoff Semi-Final. He also spent time at Billericay Town.

Ronto, a former Autralia Under 18 international, made thirty three appearances for Swifts last season, scoring five goals. That followed twenty six appearances and four goals as the club won the North Division Playoffs in 2018-19. He spent most of 2016-17 and 2017-18 with Witham Town, and has also played for Bishop's Stortford and for a number of clubs down under.
