Bantick heads to City

Forward is on the move again

Earlier today Enfield Town announced the departure of Sam Bantick, suggesting that he might be about to head back to the North Division. This evening that has been confirmed, as he has been announced as a new signing for Cambridge City.

Last season the forward managed to play for three of our four Playoff Semi-Finalists, starting the campaign at Heybridge Swifts, moving on to Coggeshall Town and finishing with a red card for Aveley in their Semi-Final clash with Swifts. In the summer he was announced as a new signing for the Towners, and he has made four appearances this season, two from the bench. Town manager Andy Leese explained his departure thus:

"It is entirely Sam's choice to move on at this stage of the season. He is seeking regular first team football and we cannot guarantee him that here. The approach from Cambridge City may help with his current aims, and I would like to wish him well."
