Basey for Wands...

By Ian Townsend

...and Gary Alexander is an Isthmian once more

Cray Wanderers have announced that Grant Basey has been appointed as their interim manager- with Gary Alexander as his Assistant.

Grant previously played for Wands- indeed they were his last club before his retirement- but prior to that he had a successful professional career, playing for Charlton Athletic, Brentford, Barnet, Peterborough United and Wycombe Wanderers before dropping briefly into non league. He has recently worked as First Team Development coach at The Valley.

Gary Alexander needs little introduction, as he was the boss at both Greenwich Borough and Ashford United in recent years. After leaving the Nuts and Bolts he was manager of Glebe in the SCEFL, leaving for personal reasons in the summer. He played professionally with the likes of Leyton Orient, Exeter City, Millwall, Crawley Town, Brentford and AFC Wimbledon.

They are joined by goalkeeper coach Peter Lodge, whilst Andy Drury has left the club, along with George Howard.
