Basildon appoint former Hullbridge duo

It took Basildon United no time at all to find a replacement for departed boss Marc Benterman, and indeed they found two replacements, appointing former Hullbridge Sports duo Darren Manning and James Wakeling to the top job.

Darren and James steered Hullbridge Sports to Essex Senior League promotion, and successfully led them to Pitching In Isthmian North safety during two covid-hit campaigns, before leaving the club in September last year. Darren has since been in charge at Welling Town in the SCEFL, whilst James was in charge at Southend Manor.
