BetVictor Isthmian League- supporters predictions 2019/20: East Grinstead Town

We’re staying in Sussex, and remaining in the insect world, where we go from Hornet to Wasp! It’s the turn of East Grinstead Town.

We asked supporters of our BetVictor Isthmian League clubs to preview the new season, reflect on the old and predict the final outcome. Their predicted 1-20 (or 22) will be worked into a final table which you will see just before the big kick off.

East Grinstead Town may have ended last season with enough Richmond sausages to keep them going until Christmas, but they also look back on a campaign filled with positives- and Harry Redknapp. Adam Robinson is our guide.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

Adam and a small swarm of wasps

Adam and a small swarm of wasps

I have a couple of favourite moments. Doing the double over Hastings last season was an exceptional result. Both performances were incredible. Also the Herne Bay game at home where we had Richmond Sausages put on an event for us with Hayley McQueen and Harry Redknapp attending. It was a surreal experience but one all Grinstead fans will cherish.

2. And your worst moment?

Our performance against Phoenix Sports away, losing 5-1 in a drab performance. Not taking away from how Phoenix played but we were terrible that day.

3. How will you do this season?

I think it will be another mid-table finish for us this season. We've lost a couple of players but the manager Matt Longhurst has recruited well so far throughout the summer, as well as keeping a core nucleus of the group.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to going to- and why?

This season it will be Whitehawk and Chichester City just on the basis that they're two grounds that I've not been to before.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

Hythe Town has always been a favourite for us. Dart board and bar, what more could you ask for pre-match?

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

Three Bridges are our local rivals and it's one fixture that the fans always look for. We beat them 2-0 away last season and had a 4-4 draw at home which had a proper derby feel about it.

7. What advice would you give to any away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Come and say hello, we're a friendly bunch.

8. Who is your favourite player of all time (for your club)- and why?

Not answered- Adam, let us know if you want to change this!

9. Who will be in the top five at the end of the season?

Ashford United, Hastings United, Burgess Hill Town, Whitehawk, Whyteleafe

Right, you've read Adam’s thoughts, do you want to be next? If you'd like to represent your club, then please send an email to townsendaround@gmail.com and we shall see what we can do!
