BetVictor Supporters Predictions- North Division: The Final Outcome

By Ian Townsend

The people have spoken- and here is their predicted final league table for the BetVictor Isthmian North Division 2019-20.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been presenting you with the views of supporters across the BetVictor Isthmian League, as they reviewed the season past and looked forward to the one about to start. As part of that process we’ve been highlighting their choices of who will finish in the top five, but what you might not know is that we’ve also been asking them to predict the entire final league table, from one to twenty. So we’ve got out the BetVictor Isthmian abacus, taken off our shoes and socks and finalised the maths, and it's time to channel your inner Nostradamus!

Given Coggeshall Town’s performance in their first Isthmian North season it’s rather unsurprising that you expect them to be champions. They’ve recruited strongly over the summer, and you think they’ll just pip Aveley to the title- but by the smallest of margins. You’re rather impressed with the Millers, but they’re in good company, as you are quite certain that Heybridge Swifts and Maldon & Tiptree will make the North Division a four-horse race.

The side you’ve placed in fifth place could give us a Landlords v Tenants playoff semi-final if you are correct. You’ve been rather impressed with Jim Cooper’s recruitment at Grays Athletic, and expect that he will be the manager putting pressure on the top four. You placed Athletic just ahead of Bury Town, who you believe will miss out- again.

At the wrong end of the table you’re quite sure we’ll have a two-handed battle to stay out of bottom place, and you’re convinced that Witham Town and Romford will be the duo in peril. You weren’t particularly confident about the chances of newly promoted Hullbridge Sports, and you weren’t convinced by Soham Town Rangers either, but you were entirely sure that the two sides who battled not to finish second bottom last time out will be fighting to escape the bottom spot in the forthcoming season.

So there you go! We’ll revisit these predictions at the end of the season to see how you did, and undoubtedly a few managers will be sticking them on the dressing room wall this afternoon to inspire their sides to do better.

Thanks to all who participated, it was great fun reading your thoughts and we appreciate the time you took to share them with us.
