Blues sign longest serving Scholar

Doyle goes to Summers Lane

When Potters Bar Town announced that defender Chris Doyle was leaving the club back in November, we wondered where he would end up.

Chris made his debut for the Scholars in December 2009, emerging from the subs bench to take on Enfield Town- and played three hundred and thirty three matches for club, scoring twenty nine goals. Almost ten years later he departed the Pakex, and on Saturday he made his debut for Wingate and Finchley in their goalless draw with Brightlingsea Regent- only their third clean sheet of the season so far.

In between his departure from Bar and his arrival at Summers Lane he spent a short time at Chesham United. This is something of a return for him, as he played for the Blues prior to his time as a Scholar.
