Romford bring in Grays attacker

Grays Athletic have confirmed that striker Warren Kayembe has left the club and signed for North Division rivals Romford. We perhaps should have noticed that already, given he scored for Boro in their 3-2 Essex Senior Cup defeat to Great Wakering Rovers last night!

Athletic manager Jim Cooper, in a statement on the club website, explained:

'Warren has looked sharp and has done very well for our reserves side and has not looked out of place when he has appeared in our first team games. In order to develop his career he needed to play in a first team environment more often which at this current time for us would have been difficult to achieve. I recommended Warren to Romford FC and so I hope that he plays well as he is always welcome back at Grays and I will be keeping a close eye on his progress.'

Warren has made three appearances for Athletic this season. Rather ironically his first goal of the campaign came against his new club in the Velocity Trophy last week.
