Prolific Bowers marksman heads to Tilbury

Bowers and Pitsea announced earlier this week that they had parted ways with striker David Knight, last season's Golden Boot Winner, and the speculation has been rife about where he was likely to end up.

This morning Tilbury has been announced as his new destination.

Knight got an incredible forty three goals in all competitions last season. This total included hat tricks against Felixstowe and Walton United, Basildon United and Dereham Town, and four-goal hauls against both Barking and Takeley- the latter in the FA Cup. He started this season positively too, with four goals in his first five matches- although he, and the rest of his team, have been far less prolific in recent weeks.

Dockers boss Marc Harrison explained:

"We are delighted to get both Ryan Mallett (announced yesterday) and David Knight over the line this week. We are a club that want to move forward and these two exciting players add to a squad that are hungry to be successful. I do trust this squad and we will continue to push for progression. It’s an exciting challenge being here and we cannot ask for anything more from the club. A huge welcome to both Ryan and David."
