Bostik Supporters Preview 17/18: Witham Town

For the latest in our supporters previews we head to Witham Town, but no, it isn't from James Beardwell (although he does get a mention). Instead, Daniel Barrell steps up.

We asked a supporter from each of our member clubs to answer the same series of questions as part of our preview of the new season. We also asked them to predict how their particular division would finish, from one to 24- and their answers will be revealed in a collection of Supporters Prediction Tables to be released the day before the big kick off.

Here are the answers of Daniel Barrell, representing Witham Town.

1. What was your favourite moment of last season?

It would have to be the 5-1 victory away at Bowers and Pitsea in January. It has to be the best Witham performance of the season.

2. And what was the worst moment?

Losing 3-1 to Beaconsfield in the FA Cup . We just didn't turn up on the day.

3. How will you do this season?

We have kept most of last years squad, so I would like to think we could finish in the top 10. Although the North division does look very competitive this season.

4. Which matches are you most looking forward to- and why?

I'm looking forward to visiting Aveley's new ground. Also Soham for the burgers! And the local derbies against Heybridge and Maldon are always fun.

5. What is your favourite away ground?

This is a tough one, it's a tie between Dulwich Hamlet and Dereham Town.

6. Who do you consider your biggest rivals- and why?

Heybridge Swifts, but it’s a friendly rivalry.

7. What advice would you give to an away supporter visiting you for the first time?

Make sure you say hi to James Beardwell (fan of the year). Also make sure you visit the bar, it’s well-stocked.

8. Who is your favourite player (for your club) of all time- and why?

For me again it's a tie. Glenn Driver (current Leiston manager) is just one of the most natural goal scorers the club’s ever had. Also John Watson- he's been at the club nearly 10 seasons, played every position, just a really nice guy.

9. Finally, predict who will fill the top five positions at the end of the forthcoming season:

Haringey Borough, AFC Hornchurch, Canvey Island, Maldon & Tiptree, Bury Town.
