Brickies go second, whilst Wasps win their local derby

…and the Hawks remain unbeaten, but can only draw. It's our Pitching In Isthmian South East round up

Last season’s matches between Cray Valley PM and Sittingbourne both ended in Millers wins and a massive aggregate score in their favour, so perhaps the Brickies had revenge on their minds as they arrived at the Artic Stadium last night? Whatever their motivation a fine performance saw them climb to second place in the table. Frank Puemo but the visitors ahead seven minutes before half time, and on sixty six minutes Donvieve Jones made it two. Three minutes later it was effectively game over, as Henry Dasofunjo made it three. Hassan Ibrahiym got a late Millers consolation, but that was that.

We had a bit of a grudge match at Jubilee Field, as Three Bridges welcomed East Grinstead Town in an A264 Sussex derby. The Wasps fans sing of their dislike for these opponents even when not playing against them, and would have been delighted to see their side move into a two goal lead at the break, even though both were own goals! Bridges roared out of the dressing room at the restart, and were level within eight minutes, Camron Lawson and Kieron Pamment with the goals, but on sixty seven minutes, disaster struck for the home fans, a keeper slip and an Andrew Briggs goal for the Wasps earning them all three points. The hosts came close, striking the bar, but that’s two wins in four days for the Wasps, both against Sussex opposition, and it sees them up to eighth.

Whitehawk and Burges Hill Town had only managed one goal in their previous one hundred and eighty minutes, and now it’s one goal in two hundred and seventy minutes after a goalless draw in East Brighton. The Hawks are fifth and remain unbeaten, but will perhaps be beginning to worry that they’ve drawn four of their seven matches; whilst the Hillians are seventeenth, but are now three unbeaten in the league.

Our image shows two goals that were never breached!
