Can the Seasiders break back into the top five?

By Ian Townsend

In-form Gorleston and promotion-chasing Felixstowe and Walton United meet tonight, in a match that is important at both ends of the Pitching In Isthmian North table

A run of three defeats from four matches has left Felixstowe and Walton United outside of the top five, but the Seasiders will climb to fourth if they can win against Gorleston in Lowestoft tonight. Two of those defeats came against leaders Hashtag United, who have beaten everybody of late, and third place Lowestoft Town, so that recent lack of success may just be a blip. This match is their game in hand over four of the five sides above them, but more importantly over fifth place Grays Athletic- and indeed they will usurp Athletic if they can take just one point, as they have a significantly better goal difference.

Gorleston will be no pushovers, however. The greens are six matches unbeaten and have won five of those, a run which has seen them soar away from the relegation places and open up a nine point gap over the drop zone.

The first meeting between the two sides this season delivered a five goal thriller, the Seasiders triumphing by three goals to two.

A REMINDER- THE GAME WILL TAKE PLACE AT LOWESTOFT TOWN FC!
