Champion scores personal hat-trick!

By David Watters

Folkestone Invicta's championship winning boss Neil Cugley has scooped his third managerial accolade of the season after being named alongside Alan Dowson and Tony Russell as March’s Macron and Nicholas Rowe Tailoring Managers of the Month.

Unveiled on Sunday as the penultimate winners of the 2015-16 season, Cugley's promotion-chasing colleagues at Hampton & Richmond Borough and Cray Wanderers Wanderers are also celebrating winning the accolade for a second time, Dowson after his win in December and Russell for his work in Ryman North in September.

As well as collecting inscribed glass trophies recording their achievements from joint sponsors Macron, the trio will also be measured up for new suits by Nicholas Rowe Tailoring as part of a unique sponsorship partnership which kicked off last season to reward the Ryman's monthly managerial maestros.

Like all winners, they will be able to choose from three colours for their suits at the long established company’s 7000 sq ft Suit City in Redhill. Under the terms of the sponsorship there is no restriction on the number managers can win although joint bosses have to collect more than one award with the monthly prizes restricted to one suit per winning club.

After collecting August's inaugural accolade for his side's storming start to their Ryman South campaign and December's laurels as he kept them on course for the title, Cugley's efforts last month in his 19th season at the helm were equally impressive.

Pictured collecting his December award from Ryman League chairman Nick Robinson on Good Friday before his side beat Walton & Hersham 6-0 to win the championship in front of more than 1,500 fans at the Fullicks Stadium, the Invicta boss will take charge for the 1000th time before the end of the season after masterminding his side's six victories and a draw in March.

Former Kingstonian manager Dowson was named as the top flight's top boss in December for guiding Hampton & Richmond Borough to second in the table to stay hard on the heels of then leaders Dulwich Hamlet. Since then his side have climbed to top spot and are currently four points clear after another outstanding month, the Beavers taking maximum points from six wins in six outings under the guidance of the former Millwall defender.

Wands manager Tony Russell is hoping his fourth-placed side can win promotion via the upcoming play-offs. To give Cray a great chance and win the award for a second time after collecting his first personal honour of the season back in September, Russell guided his side to five wins on the spin in March.
