Chocolate treat to thanks fans!

Thamesmead Town are handing out chocolate eggs on Good Friday to all the mums and children who turn out to cheer them on in their key Ryman North clash with Barkingside.

The play-off chasers announced the Easter promotion at Sporting Club Thamesmead on Monday, two days after Terry Spillane's side took a point at Bury's Ram Meadow on Saturday to inch closer to the promotion spots.

With the carrot of victory in one of only two Ryman League fixtures scheduled for Good Friday - Folkestone Invicta could clinch the Ryman South title when they host Walton & Hersham in the other - taking them to within a point of the top five, officials at Bayliss Avenue say they are hoping to reward a bumper crowd for their loyalty this season.

Kick off is 2pm and Thamesmead Town chairman Paul Bowden-Brown said: "The supporters and their families have backed us tremendously well during our recent fine run of form that has taken us right into the play-off chase and a win on Friday will take us to within a point of the top five before kick off on Easter Saturday!
