Content is king at Footes Lane!

Guernsey's media team are tapping into the audio answer to Twitter on social media to offer supporters even more coverage of their Ryman South campaign.

The social media savvy Greens Lions announced this week that they are now using audioBoom, the free platform to share audio content online, to provide post-match coverage and behind-the-scenes updates as well as breaking news from Footes lane.

Initially set up as a user generated content social network, audioBoom will allow the club to create its own audio content for broadcast with fans able to listen in via multiple platforms including a smartphone app, Twitter and Facebook.

GFC communications manager Nic Legg told GuernseyFC.com that content will also be submitted to iTunes as a podcast feed following the launch of the new service at the weekend when fans at Footes Lane saw former BBC Guernsey presenter Simon De La Rue interviewing GFC assistant manager Colin Fallaize and goalscorer Marc McGrath after the club's 2-1 win over Horsham.

De La Rue will continue to be on hand for home games while the club's webmaster webmaster and GFCTV away match commentator Matt Nichols will collect the post-match reaction away from home.

Legg told www.guernseyfc.com: "We are constantly looking to enhance and improve our communication with fans. AudioBoom is a fantastic tool and will allow us to give our fans instant reaction and share news in an engaging way.

"I would like to welcome Simon to the communications team. Many will know 'Del' from his time at BBC Radio Guernsey. He commentated on many memorable GFC games and his experience will be a real asset to the club."

He added: "We have built up nearly 7,000 followers on Twitter and over 4,000 on Facebook, and audioBoom will add another dimension to our digital offering. We hope fans will enjoy the interviews."
