Cooney new at Potters Bar

Potters Bar Town yesterday announced the signing of full back Tommy Cooney.

Tommy came through the ranks at Brentford, playing for the Bees B team, and has a varied career in the North of England with the likes of Morecambe and Scarborough Athletic, and has also played in Wales, Sweden, Australia and Finland.

His most recent Isthmian spells came with Faversham Town and Hastings United, but he also played for Sevenoaks Town, Margate, Hornchurch and Leatherhead during 21-22.

He had ten appearances for Bognor Regis Town during the final pandemic-hit season, finishing on the winning side seven times- and previously played for Braintree Town, Hungerford Town, Hayes & Yeading United, Metropolitan Police and Whitehawk.
