Draycott for the Nuts and Bolts

By Ian Townsend

Folkestone legend Ian Draycott agrees terms with Ashford United

New Ashford United boss Kevin Watson has continued his- already impressive- recruitment for the forthcoming season with the signing of long-serving Folkestone Invicta stalwart Ian Draycott.

Ian spent nine years at Cheriton Road after singing from Leatherhead, and became the club's leading goalscorer, delivering one hundred and fifty goals in his three hundred and sixty one appearances. Last season saw him play forty three times, and he was awarded a testimonial last summer, Invicta hosting Maidstone United in his honour. His departure was confirmed on May 23rd.

As well as his time with the Tanners, Ian also spent time with Lewes, Maidstone United and Bedford Town, many, many years ago.
