Sheppey United add Jamal Ossai and Jake Embery

Sheppey United had two new names in their squad for their win over Corinthian on Saturday, although only one of them got onto the pitch.

Striker Jake Embery, who moves up from Herne Bay where he has been for only a couple of weeks, was the player who emerged from the bench late in the match.

He joins his fourth club of the season- he made seven appearances for Faversham Town and five for Carshalton Athletic, as well as two for Bay.

Jake started his career at Bay, departing the club for Maidstone United aged just nineteen, in February 2019- a highly sought after signing after he scored forty nine goals in eighty five appearances at Winch's Field.

His two years with the Stones were not only hit by the pandemic but also by injury, dislocating a shoulder and suffering an ankle problem which stopped the Gallagher Stadium faithful ever seeing the best of him. He was invited back for pre-season last year, but decided instead to head back to the Kent coast and sign for Margate. He scored four goals in twelve appearances at Hartsdown Park, and then moved on to Horsham, where he played four times. He then played National League South football for Tonbridge Angels, before joining Leatherhead in February, playing three times.

Jamal Ossai moves up from Ashford United, where he made six appearances after signing in the summer. A full back- able to play left and right back, he was previously with Hatcham Manor and also played for Tudor Sports.
