In the month since Ray Turner stepped down as manager of Faversham Town the club have diligently considered their options, whilst coach Clive Walker held the fort. Last night, however, a decision was made on the way forward- and like a number of our clubs recently, Town have decided that two heads are better than one.
The new management duo previously worked together at Ebbsfleet United, masterminding the Academy setup, but one of them will be well known to the Salters Lane faithful. Phil Miles was a no-nonsense centre half for Faversham in the late 1980's and early 1990's, before moving on to ply his trade at Herne Bay and Chatham Town, amongst others. He will be partnered by Danny Chapman, a former Millwall and Leyton Orient midfielder who may be better remembered by our supporters for his time at Cray Wanderers.
Phil and Danny will be in the dugout for Saturday's match against Greenwich Borough, and you can read more on this story at the club website, here.
