Cheshunt yesterday announced the double-signings of Kayne Diedrick-Roberts and Sam Alderson.
Diedrick Roberts, a former Manchester United striker, has been with the Rocks since November 2020. He has made twenty eight appearances this season, scoring six goals, following the two he managed last season- both in the FA Trophy as our domestic campaign had already been halted.
He was previously with Lewes, joining the Rooks in the summer of 2019 and making twenty seven appearances, weighing in with seven goals. He left the Rooks towards the end of that campaign and joined Cheshunt for the first time, but only managed a couple of appearances in Amber before the season crashed to an end.
He turned out for the Red Devils at Under 18 and Under 23 level, after joining United from Fulham in 2015 when he was only fifteen years old. He also spent time on loan at Bournemouth, and has also spent some time with Greenwich Borough.
Midfielder Sam came through the ranks at Leyton Orient, before joining Kingstonian in the summer of 2017. He first played for Cheshunt a year later, making eight appearances during the 2017-18 season and scoring in the last two, and then moved on to Sweden to turn out for Ytterhogdals IK (perhaps you can ask him how to pronounce that).
After heading back to the UK he played for Hungerford Town.
Read more here. The Ambers should have been travelling to Bognor Regis Town this afternoon- which would have been a quick return for Kayne- but that game has been postponed.
