FA Cup Tuesday!

By Ian Townsend

We’ve six FA Cup Replays tonight- here’s our preview

After a draw on Saturday, Stowmarket Town welcome Pitching In Isthmian North rivals AFC Sudbury for an FA Cup replay. There must be a slight feeling of déjà vu from both sides, given they met in the same competition last season and that too went to a replay, but Town will be desperate for a different outcome this time round, whilst the Yellows will want another season filled with Cup glory.

Northwood welcome South Central rivals Ashford Town hoping to retain their unbeaten record this season. The original match saw two goals in the last ten minutes- one for each side- and a two-all draw. The Tangerines put eight goals past Saltdean United in the last round.

Brentwood Town are on the road to the Harlow Arena, following the one-all draw on Saturday. Three of the last four meetings between the sides have ended in a draw, but someone will have to win this one, even if it goes to spot kicks.

Fisher, who defeated Sutton Common Rovers in the last round, welcomed Sittingbourne on Saturday and gave the Brickes a scare, only two very, very late goals earning a replay. They try again at Woodstock Park this evening.

Raynes Park Vale of the Combined Counties League travel to Hythe Town, after becoming the first side to score against the Cannons this season- they did it twice in a two-all draw which saw three red cards and eight yellow ones. Hopefully Reachfields will be less colourful!

Sheppey United scored six goals in their first Cup replay of the season, and will hope for more of the same tonight as they travel to Newhaven (pictured). The Dockers may have got zero in the first match but they shouldn’t be underestimated, as whilst the Ites scored six in their replay, Newhaven got ten in theirs!

All matches start at 7.45 PM.
