Former Colchester man takes the reins at Bury Town

Cole Skuse is the new manager at Ram Meadow

Bury Town have just announced the appointment of recently retired Bristol City, Ipswich Town and Colchester United legend Cole Skuse as their new manager.

Cole, who ended last season with League Two United but missed much of the closing months of the campaign following a knee injury, has had nearly twenty years in the professional game. He came through the Academy at Bristol City before graduating to the first team and making more than three hundred appearances, before moving to Ipswich Town and making nearly three hundred more. He moved on to Colchester United at the start of last season.

Cole replaces Ben Chenery, who left Ram Meadow after nine years in charge a few weeks before the end of the season.

Bury Town chairman Russell Ward told the club website:

"After a long process we are delighted that Cole has accepted our offer to become our new manager. This will be Cole's first managerial appointment and I know that he is keen to get started and we look forward to working with him. There is a lot of potential here and the Board feel that appointing someone with the professional experience that Cole has will benefit the whole club."
