Four for Rovers

Danny Divine, Daryl Cooper-Smith, Markus Marku and Zaid Ouaret-Sorr are new at Sutton Common

As they approached Saturday's trip to Guernsey, Sutton Common Rovers announced four new arrivals- so we're playing a little transfer catch up.

Defender Danny Divine has most recently been with Haywards Heath Town, making eleven appearances, but he started the season at Heath's Pitching In Isthmian South East rivals Faversham Town, where he played twice.

Danny also played sixteen times for Faversham in the second half of the 2018-19 season, after departing Gillingham, where he had been playing youth football. He stepped up to play for Maidstone United, and then spent time with Sheppey United, before moving to Sevenoaks Town, where he played twenty two times last season.

He then moved back to Sheppey, playing a big part in their promotion to our ranks.

Striker Daryl Cooper-Smith returns to the club on a dual registration deal from Abbey Rangers, after being previously prolific for Rovers- sixty two goals at a rate better than a goal every two matches. He played seven times- with three goals- for Westfield during their first Isthmian season back in 2018-19, and has also turned out for Epsom & Ewell. Many years ago as a youth player he was part of a Leatherhead youth side who won an Isthmian League and Cup double, and he eventually went on to make a first team debut for the Tanners during the 2015-16 campaign.

Markus Marku heads up the A23- then along the M25 and up the A22- from Whitehawk. He came up through the reserves and into the first team at Harlow Town whilst they were still in our ranks, and then he moved to that other set of Hawks on the South coast, making nine appearances this season- with one goal.

Zaid Ouaret-Sorr was previously with Tooting & Mitcham United, and indeed made eighteen appearances and scored two goals last season. He has actually already made four appearances this month, and scored in the first of those, at Leatherhead.
