From Stones to Brickies for Ellul

By Ian Townsend

National League defender Joe Ellul leaves Maidstone United- and joins Sittingbourne

Sittingbourne yesterday delivered something of a transfer coup with the signing of centre half Joe Ellul , who was a National league South title winner- and supporters player of the year- at Maidstone United last year.

Joe was with the Stones for two and a half years, joining them from Maidenhead United. He spent some time in New Zealand playing for Tasman United, but before heading to Lord of the Rings land played for his new managers former club, Braintree Town.

He previously spent time with Billericay Town and East Thurrock United.

His decision to leave the Stones earlier this week was based on work commitments which would have interfered with his training- but their loss is most definitely the Brickies gain.
