Hanwell writing to elderly supporters, Lewes offering delivery service

Hanwell Town have been making a difference to self-isloating supporters by writing to them with club news, whilst Lewes supporters have been hitting the road to provide support.

The Geordies, realising that not everyone is internet-savvy, as have returned to more traditional communication methods to ensure that their supporters who aren't online stay in touch. Posting on social media last night, they explained:

'Today we have been writing letters to our elderly fans to let them know what’s been happening at the club and in general. They live alone and don’t have social media, we hope this makes them feel a little less lonely.'

Down the road in East Sussex, the Rooks have launched a community helpline, offering support with deliveries, shopping- or even just a chat, for people self-isolating. You can read more about the initiative here, and members of their local community can access help by heading here.

If your club is working for the community during this time of crisis, please get in touch and let us know. Email Ian and we'll spread the word.
