Good Friday Football- Premier

By Ian Townsend

Two big Pitching In Isthmian Premier matches- at top and bottom

Two of our promotion chasers take on two of our relegation strugglers today, with the second of our two matches kicking off at the earlier than usual time of 2PM.

The 3 o'clock kick off sees Enfield Town host Cray Wanderers. The Towners saw a six match winning streak come to an end at Brightlingsea Regent last time out, a result which did today's opponents, Cray Wanderers, no good at all. The Towners want to get back to winning ways immediately in the hope of taking a top three spot and home advantage in the play offs, whilst their opponents have fallen to second from bottom and two points from safety. Having lost their last four and with only one win from ten, if Wands don't start picking up points now it's likely to result in a terrible end to their campaign.

Hornchuch host Regent at 1400. The Urchins moved up to third place by defeating Cray five-nil on Sunday, but could do Wands a massive favour by performing just as well against Brightlingsea Regent. A win for the Urchins would see them go level on points with second place Bishop's Stortford, a big win could see them overtake the Blues, but a defeat could see Enfield displace them in third.

Regent have other worries, but that win against Enfield shows they're not afraid to mix it with the big boys, and another one like it this afternoon would see them take a massive step towards safety.
