Hastings announce their award winners

No party, but plenty of prizes

Hastings United were the latest club to have a traditional end of season awards ceremony without being able to use traditional methods, instead getting everyone together via the internet recently. The results highlight a fabulous, if sadly curtailed, season for the club.

Manager Player of the Year was Gary Elphick. United had far and away the best defence in the South East Division- the second best in the entire league- and veteran Gary was an enormous part of that, with thirty two appearances. He even managed to score three goals, too.

Ben Pope did the double, winning the Players Player and Supporters Player of the Season Awards. Ben has quickly become a real favourite with the supporters, rather unsurprisingly since he scored twenty three goals.

Managers Young Player of the Season was Ollie Black, who made the number two shirt his own and made thirty six appearances.

Craig Stone picked up the Goal of the Season award for his effort in the FA Cup defeat at Worthing, whilst Goalkeeper Louis Rogers deservedly picked up the Directors Player of the Year Award, and the John Collins Magic Moment Trophy for his penalty save against Haywards Heath Town. We don't believe anyone from Hanbury Park voted for him.

Davide Rodari was honoured for his eight goals against East Grinstead Town.

Where next?
