Highlights: Cray Wanderers 5 Horsham 3

By Ian Townsend

Here are the best bits of an eight goal thriller!

Cray Wanderers v Horsham was an attractive prospect even without the added bonus of Non League Day. Wands, in sixth place and three points away from a place in the top five at the start, welcomed a Hornets side who were just a point further behind. It took the hosts only three minutes to go ahead, Nyren Clunis doing the damage, and although Lee Harding levelled for the visitors just before the break there was still time for Harrison Sodje to restore home advantage before they all trooped off for a half time orange. By the time of the Hornets equaliser they were playing with ten men, Jack Brivio dismissed, and the numerical advantage was made to count six minutes after the restart as Clunis added a third. Horsham weren’t downhearted, and they reduced the arrears once more with twenty four minutes left, Tom Day with their second. With thirteen minutes to go Freddie Carter again gave Wands a two goal advantage, but again, and almost immediately, Horsham added another, Daniel Ajakaiye bring his side back to within shooting distance. With two minutes left the hosts finally made sure, Dajon Golding adding a fifth- and there the scoring stopped. Wands remain three points away from fifth place.
