Highlights: Guernsey 3 Thatcham Town 1

Our early kick off saw Guernsey welcome Thatcham Town to the Channel Islands. The Green Lions defeat against Badshot Lea last time out had been their first in four matches, whilst the Kingfishers had only lost one of their previous ten, so we expected this one to be tight. The hosts went ahead midway through the first half, the ever-reliable Matt Loaring scoring for the eighth time this season- that’s four in five matches for Matt- and the chances of a Town comeback were reduced when Callum Willmouth was dismissed four minutes before half time. Ten minutes from the end the hosts gave the Kingfishers hope when joining them on ten men, David Merris dismissed, and they quickly capitalised, Owen Clark with the equaliser. Could either side get a winner? They could- and it was the hosts. Four minutes from time Ross Allen restored their lead, and two minutes later Charlton Gauvain made things rather more comfortable, making it three-one.

Six hundred and ninety two watched on, and only those flying home left unhappy.
