Westfield ensure the play offs

Fans of Raynes Park Vale had their fingers crossed for an away win and Westfield hosted Northwood last night- and until ten minutes from time their prayers looked to be being answered, but a late comeback for the hosts clinched that top five spot and a place at the end of season party.

After a goalless first half the Woods got their noses in front on sixty five minutes, Harry McCorkell heading home his first Woods goal after being the first to react to a corner- and they held that lead until ten minutes from time. Jordan Alves already had thirteen goals for the season and it looked for much of the match as if that would be unlucky, but he managed the fourteenth ten minutes from time, a deflected effort but they all count! That goal would have given Field a three point lead going into the last day of the campaign, but four minutes into added time Alves ensured that lead became insurmountable, a shot from the right hand side of the box beating Andrew McCorkell and beginning the celebrations around Woking Park. That’s six wins in a row for Field.
