Isthmian Manager of the Month Awards- sponsored by Anderson Travel: August 2019

Slightly delayed because we wanted to announce Anderson Travel’s generous sponsorship of the Isthmian Youth League Cup first, here are our Managers of the Month for August.

Premier

During the first month of our new season Folkestone Invicta continued where they’d left off at the end of the last one, winning match after match. Six games played, five victories, one draw, fourteen goals scored, four conceded, and a place at the top of the table- we suspect that Neil Cugley won’t need a Manager of the Month Award to be happy, but we’re giving him one anyway!

Congratulations to Neil, and to his high-performing warriors.

North

Five matches- four in the League, and one in the FA Cup- five victories; it seems quite clear that Maldon & Tiptree have put their disappointments at the end of last season behind them and are intent on ensuring that they get automatic promotion this time around. The end of the month saw them sat firmly at the top of the North Division table (and of course they’re still there, but perhaps we’ll get to talk more about that at the start of next month!).

South Central

One side, more than any other, struck Terrors into the hearts of South Central opposition during August. Stand up and be recognised Tooting & Mitcham United! The Terrors seem to have become a nursery club for the EFL Championship, having provided four players to its clubs over the summer- but those left behind are pretty darn good too, and they ended the month with a 100% record, winning five matches.

Our prize has to be shared, as it goes to joint managers Ashley Bosah & Cornelius Nwadialor.

South East

Get to the FA Vase Final, win promotion, sit at the top of the League after the first month of the season. The last few months couldn’t really have gone any better for Cray Valley PM, and their manager Kevin Watson. Kevin’s charges won three of their first four matches, drawing the other- and if any of our clubs thought that the new boys would be a pushover, they now know rather differently.
