Lockyer back at Ashford

By Ian Townsend

A few weeks after we announced Gary Lockyer's arrival at Cray Wanderers, the forward is back with the Nuts and Bolts

Ashford United have signalled the return of striker Gary Lockyer, after the striker spent only a few weeks away at Cray Wanderers. He made six appearances for the Wands, and scored in their two-two FA Cup draw at Bognor Regis Town.

Gary was a big part of Ashford United's run to the Play Off Final last season. The Nuts and Bolts signed him from neighbours Kennington midway through last season, after he had already scored eighteen SCEFL goals. He added seventeen more in his thirty appearances in green and white.

Gary previously played for Ramsgate. He started out with Gravesend and Northfleet, had trials at Charlton Athletic and Aldershot Town, and spent many years playing for Lydd Town in the shadow of the nuclear power station. He won back to back promotions with Kennington.
