Lovett in at Heath

Less than a week after leaving their closest rivals, Jay Lovett is appointed manager at Haywards Heath Town

Haywards Heath Town yesterday appointed recently departed Burgess Hill Town boss Jay Lovett as their new manager.

Heath, who parted company with duo Dale Hurley and Alex Walsh last week, have moved quickly to appoint Lovett, who was rather surprised to be available given the nature of his Hill departure. His last match for Hill was a victory over his new club on Valentines Day! He is Heath's third (fourth, if you count both Hurley and Walsh!) manager of the campaign, and his new side find themselves third from bottom of Pitching In isthmian South East, albeit only one point from safety. Hill are one place and one point above them.

Jay had been in charge at the Green Elephants Stadium since November 2019. He was previously in charge at South Park, and as a player turned out for the likes of Brentford, Plymouth Argyle, Crawley Town, Lewes, Eastbourne Borough and Met Police.
