Manager's award suits Bay boss!

By David Watters

Herne Bay boss Sam Denly has been sporting a new suit around Winch's Field during the Ryman South run-in since collecting his reward for winning the Macron and Nicholas Rowe Tailoring Manager of the Month for November.

Pictured being presented with an inscribed glass trophy from joint sponsors Macron by Ryman League secretary Kellie Discipline after his play-off chasing side beat Chatham 2-0 win in February, Denly also collected his tailored suit from Nicholas Rowe Tailoring.

Denly was named as one of November's winners of the monthly managerial laurels alongside Needham Market's Mark Morsley and Ben Chenery at Bury Town who've also been kitted out with new suits from Nicholas Rowe Tailoring's 7000 sq ft Suit City in Redhill.

To triumph, Denly masterminded four wins and a draw in November, his side scoring thirteen times and conceding just once to enter the play-off promotion race in earnest.

As well as their success in the league, Denly also guided the club to the second qualifying round of the FA Trophy thanks to a 3-2 win at Walton Casuals. Ironically, Herne Bay exited the competition after their only loss in November, a penalty shoot-out defeat at the hands of Chenery's Bury Town in a third qualifying round replay.

November proved to be an outstanding month for the Kent club after keeper Jack Delo also won Ryman League's Precision Goalkeeping Golden Gloves award for Ryman South.

The Ryman League's unique sponsorship partnership with Nicholas Rowe Tailoring kicked off last season. Under the terms of the sponsorship there is no restriction on the number of suits managers can win but joint bosses will have to collect more than one award with the monthly prizes restricted to one suit per winning club.
