Morsley, Horlock and Cook crowned!

By David Watters

Needham Market's Mark Morsley, Maldon & Tiptree's Kevin Horlock and Clive Cook at Hythe Town have been named as October's top bosses!

Unveiled on Wednesday as the latest winners of the Ryman League's Macron and Nicholas Rowe Tailoring Manager of the Month accolades in the Ryman Premier, Ryman North and Ryman South respectively, the trio are now getting ready to be measured up for new suits after winning the Ryman League's latest Macron and Nicholas Rowe Tailoring Manager of the Month laurels.

As well as being presented with inscribed glass trophies at upcoming fixtures to record their managerial honours from Macron, the joint sponsors of the monthly awards and the league's official kit suppliers, for the third season running the trio will be able to choose from three colours and a range of designs at the long-established Surrey-based tailors’ 7000 sq ft Suit City in Redhill.

As always, there is no restriction on the number of suits managers can win over the course of the campaign under the terms of a unique sponsorship deal in English football but joint bosses need to win more than once with the monthly prize from Nicholas Rowe Tailoring restricted to one suit per winning club.

Top flight winner Morsley is no stranger to the monthly managerial awards having won numerous times at the clubs he’s managed in the Ryman League. To win his latest and first of the campaign, the Marketmen boss guided the Suffolk club to five wins and a draw in the league to sit second in the table with only goal difference separating them from his former club and leaders Leiston. Morsley also finished off October with progress in the Buildbase FA Trophy with 2-0 win over Wroxham in the first qualifying round on Saturday.

Former Manchester City and West Ham midfielder Horlock collects his first managerial laurels in Ryman North since taking the helm in May. To win them, he guided the Jammers to the top of the table, albeit on goal difference from four other clubs by masterminding his side’s five wins and a draw in league action. In the Buildbase FA Trophy, the Essex club also reached the first qualifying round with a 3-1 win over Great Wakering Rovers in the preliminary round.

Clive Cook has been at Hythe Town's Reachfields Stadium a little bit longer after succeeding Scott Porter for the start of last season. He wins his first accolade of the current campaign for taking the Cannons to third in the Ryman South table after guiding his side to five straight wins in the league and two victories in the FA Trophy, the last Saturday's 3-2 success against Walton Casuals.
