New 3G pitch for the Oysterboys

Whitstable Town the latest to decide that plastic is fantastic

Whitstable Town announced last week that they are looking to install a 3G pitch over the summer, and will kick off next season on plastic if all goes to plan.

The new pitch will be installed by our long term League Cup sponsors Velocity Sports, and work will start on May 16th. Along with the pitch, the club will also install new floodlights, dugouts, fencing and pathways. The budget is in place for all of the work, and includes a grant from the Football Foundation.

The club still need to raise a further ten thousand pounds, and have started a fundraiser- which has already got a third of the way towards that target. You can donate here.

The Oysters have a last chance to conserve their Pitching In Isthmian status- or to earn the chance of a relegation playoff or a reprieve- as Lancing come to call on Saturday.

Where next?

It’s tough at the…bottom Whilst we’ve interest in who will play who in the play offs, most of our focus is at the other end, where two- or possibly three- from four will go down. It’s our Pitching In Isthmian Premier preview.
