Dan Purdue makes Whitehawk debut in County Cup defeat

Whitehawk debuted a new goalkeeper in last night's Sussex Senior Cup defeat against Newhaven, as Dan Purdue pulled on the gloves at the Enclosed Ground.

Dan started this season in Pitching In Isthmian South Central, where he turned out for Sutton Common Rovers. He made five appearances for the club in total, leaving recently.

Dan first came to our notice in November 2017, when, as the Under 18 keeper for Hendon, he was drafted into the first team for his debut when their first choice keeper got the flu. The match, an FA Cup tie against Slough Town, went to penalties- and rookie Dan made sure that the Greens progressed by saving two of them.

He made a dozen appearances for Chalfont St Peter at the start of the 2019-20 campaign, and went on to play for Burgess Hill Town and Harrow Borough. He spent most of last season at Northwood, playing eighteen times.
