Nuts and Bolts close the gap

By Ian Townsend

There are seven points between Ashford United and leaders Hastings after another Nuts and Bolts victory

Ashford United made it five wins in a row with a comfortable victory at East Grinstead Town last night.

The Nuts and Bolts, who had lost the last three times they’d faced Sussex opposition, didn’t give their hosts any reason to believe that they would become the latest Sussex side to deliver a shock. An own goal and a follow up effort from Frannie Collin made it two-nil after nineteen minutes, and after the break Gary Lockyer got number three and Thomas Fagg got number four- a result which leaves the visitors seven points behind leaders Hastings United, and with what looks like a marginally easier run in than their rivals.

The Wasps are looking nervously at the other end, having fallen to within two points of the bottom three after taking only one point from their last six fixtures.
