Gold Boot winner Joe Taylor swaps Lewes for Ramsgate

Rather unexpectedly- he only signed a new deal in May- Pitching In Isthmian South East title favourites Ramsgate have announced the signing of Lewes striker Joe Taylor.

The Rooks broke the news at lunchtime:

'Following a request to leave the club, Lewes have accepted a bid from Isthmian South-East League side Ramsgate for striker Joe Taylor.

Joe joined the Rooks in the summer of 2021 from Cray Wanderers and scored 70 goals for Lewes over the last two seasons.

The club would like to thank Joe for his efforts in a Lewes shirt and wish him all the best for the future.'

Joe scored thirty league goals to lift our Pitching In Isthmian Premier Golden Boot last season- pictured (Lambpix)- and he scored seventy goals in ninety matches during his time at the Dripping Pan. He was similarly prolific for his previous club, Cray Wanderers.

This will be his second spell with the Rams. He has also played for Margate, Sittingbourne, Farnborough, Folkestone Invicta, and Ebbsfleet United.
