Regent and Austin part company

We need our own managerial departure category, as Tom Austin at Brightlingsea is the latest to leave

We're not sure we've ever had so many managerial changes in such a short time, it's almost taking on epidemic proportions and perhaps our other bosses might be wise to take a vaccine! The latest departure, announced last night, is that of Brightlingsea Regent's Tom Austin, with Ryan Salter also departing the club.

The club statement is brief and to the point:

'Brightlingsea Regent have tonight accepted the resignation of first team manager Tom Austin.

We would like to wish Tom all the very best for the future and thank him for his efforts since taking over at the club.'

Austin and Salter took over in mid October 2020, replacing Kem Izzett. The club were nineteenth when last season came to an extremely early halt, and are also nineteenth now, having lost their last seven matches.
