Rocks robbed- and not on the pitch

East Thurrock United- and Prostate Cancer UK- victims of robbery and mindless vandalism

Non League Day on Saturday saw East Thurrock United record a victory over Lewes which saw them end the day in fifth place- but the celebrations have been cut short after the club discovered they had been the victims of a robbery when staff returned to the club this morning.

The refreshment bar at Rookery Hill was broken into, a great deal of damage caused, and soft drinks and chocolate were stolen- but perhaps worse than that, the heartless thieves also headed off with a collection box for the Prostate Cancer UK Charity- the official charity of Non League Day. The club had already donated the proceeds of Saturday's 50/50 draw to the charity, but whatever was in the collection box is now gone.

The club have set up a Go Fund Me page to attempt to raise funds to pay for the damage and to help the charity. If you would like to donate, please go here.
