Romford bring in a National League defender

Dover man heads North

We told you about two Romford signings yesterday, and here's another, as Dover Athletic defender Scott Doe has left the Kent club by mutual consent and signed for the North Division's bottom side.

He made thirty seven appearances for the club after joining in December 2018, but apparently asked to be released as he was no longer able to commit to full time football. It is possible he has chosen Romford as his next port of call because he played for Glenn Tamplin at Billericay Town during their first National League South season. He has also turned out for Weymouth, Boreham Wood and Whitehawk, but spent the majority of his career at Dagenham and Redbridge, making close to three hundred appearances.

Romford remain bottom of the table but have won their last three matches. Perhaps we'll be able to properly measure their progress as they travel to face our leaders, Maldon & Tiptree, this evening.
