Ryman welcome awaits FA boss

By David Watters

New Football Association chairman Greg Clarke is looking forward to ending his first day in the job watching South Park host Ryman South rivals Dorking Wanderers in the first Emirates FA Cup tie of the weekend.

Clarke will be a VIP guest at South Park's 2,000-capacity King George's Field in Reigate for his first game as the head of English football after officially taking over today (Friday) and starting his first day at Wembley Stadium meeting staff.

The chief executive of the Football League until the end of last season and a former Leicester City chairman, Clarke succeeded outgoing chairman Greg Dyke in August.

In a busy introduction to life running English football after attending the first qualifying round tie, the new chairman is heading to Slovakia with the England team on Saturday ahead of their opening 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Trnava.
