Saturday's Ryman South action review

By David Watters

Ryman South champions Folkestone Invicta settled another issue on Saturday – ensuring that Peacehaven & Telscombe joined Whitstable Town in occupying one of the three relegation places, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Invicta cancelled out Sio Blackwood`s 40th minute opener through Ian Draycott right on half-time, but then trailed to Ezekiel Badmosi`s effort five minutes after the restart. But Draycott went on to complete his hat-trick, sandwiched by a Michael Everitt goal to seal a 4-2 win and condemn Haven to possible back-to-back relegations, dependent upon possible reprieves.

Dorking Wanderers virtually assured themselves a place in the play-offs after a 1-0 win at the Belmont against already doomed Whitstable Town, courtesy of a 42nd minute Bertie Brayley goal.

The race for the other places still involve six other teams in Hythe Town, Worthing and Faversham Town, who current occupy the other top five slots, with Hastings United, Corinthian-Casuals and Molesey in pursuit.

Hythe stay third after beating Chatham Town 3-1 at Reachfields, coming back from being a 62nd minute George Humber goal down to win through an Alfie May brace on 66 and 88 minutes sandwiched by a Dave Cook goal in the final two minutes.

Worthing won 2-1 at Whyteleafe, with Harvey Sparks on six minutes and Steve Metcalf on 38 minutes seeing the Rebels two-up before Dylan Ramazani replied 12 minutes from time.

Faversham Town had to be content with a 1-1 draw at Imperial Fields against Tooting & Mitcham United, whose Jake Baxter gave them an early fourth minute lead that Josh Stanford cancelled out a minute before the break.

Hastings also drew 1-1 at South Park, whose Kieran Lavery levelled Sam Cole`s 47th minute opener five minutes later, while Casuals left it late before beating relegation-threatened East Grinstead Town – Shaun Okojie`s 89th minute goal separating the sides at King George`s Field.

Molesey though earned a good 3-2 home win over Ramsgate, taking an early second minute lead from a James McShane penalty and then coming back from being 2-1 down to goals from Joe Taylor after five and 18 minutes to win, thanks to Reis Stanislaus on 26 minutes and Ollie Robinson seven minutes from time.

At the other end of the table, who joins Peacehaven and Whitstable in a relegation spot is between current occupants Walton & Hersham, East Grinstead, Chipstead and Chatham, although the latter need only a point to be secure.

Chipstead shared a goalless draw at home to Sittingbourne, while the Swans travel to Guernsey on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Carshalton Athletic beat Three Bridges 4-1 at Colston Avenue with goals from Ricardo Panton in the first half and then a Ricky Korboa brace on 55 and 67 minutes and Tommy Bradford 11 minutes from time – Jamie Brotherton replying for Bridges.

Walton Casuals beat Herne Bay 2-0 at the Moatside Stadium, thanks to Stefan Cox after three minutes and Omar Folkes on the hour-mark.
